About Daily Word

A fresh five-letter word puzzle every single day. How to Play

Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter. Green tile: right letter, right spot. Yellow: right letter, wrong spot. Grey: not in the word. You have six guesses. A new word drops at midnight — keep your streak alive!

💡 Tips & Strategy

Your opening guess should be built from the most common letters in five-letter English words: E, A, R, O, T, L, I, S, N. Words like RAISE, SLATE, or CRANE test five high-frequency letters at once and usually light up two or three tiles.

Use your second guess to test new letters rather than immediately playing the ones you found. If RAISE gives you a yellow A and grey everything else, a word like CLOUT checks five fresh letters — after two guesses you've screened ten letters and the answer usually comes into focus.

Mind duplicate letters: a green L doesn't rule out a second L elsewhere (think LEVEL or SKILL). If you're stuck on your fourth guess, ask whether a repeated letter explains the pattern.

Watch common endings and beginnings — many answers end in -ER, -LY, or -ED, and start with blends like ST, CR, SH, or TH. Position what you know: a yellow R with the first slot open very often belongs at the front of one of those blends. Keep your streak by treating guess five as a safety play: choose the word that can't be wrong in more than one slot.
