How to Play

💡 Tips & Strategy
Start with the fill-in-the-blanks and the short answers. Three- and four-letter entries have far fewer possibilities, and in a 5×5 grid every answer you lock in hands you crossing letters for everything it touches — one confident short answer can unlock half the puzzle.
Read the clue's form for the answer's form. A clue in the past tense wants a past-tense answer, a plural clue wants a plural, and an abbreviated clue wants an abbreviation. A clue ending in a question mark is signalling wordplay rather than a straight definition, so think puns before facts.
When a clue stumps you, leave it and work the crossings. In a mini, no answer is more than five letters, so two or three crossing letters usually make the word obvious even if the clue never clicks. Solving around a gap is faster than staring into it.
If you're stuck near the end, try the vowel test: pencil the likely vowel pattern into the empty slots and see which real word fits. And use Check before Reveal — knowing *that* a letter is wrong is usually enough to find the right one yourself, which keeps the solve honestly yours.
