Two decks, eight foundations, one pass through the stock. Brutal.
About Forty Thieves
The solitaire that Napoleon supposedly played in exile, and you can see why — it is punishment. Forty cards stand between you and eight foundations, columns build down in the same suit one card at a time, and the stock deals exactly once. No redeal, no mercy, no second chances. Wins are rare enough that people remember them. Bring the undo button and a grudge.
How to Play
Build columns DOWN in the same suit, moving one card at a time. Any card may fill an empty column. Build all eight foundations Ace to King. Tap the stock to deal one card to the waste — one pass, no redeal.
💡 Tips & Strategy
The stock deals once, so every draw is a small commitment. Before each one, play everything useful on the table — a card that lands on the waste pile is only retrievable from the top.
Same-suit, one-card-at-a-time building means sequences lock fast. Avoid stacking a card onto a column where it blocks a lower card of the same suit you'll need.
Empty columns are the only way to move buried cards, so open one early and guard it. Use it as a relay: unload one card, tuck it, repeat. Slow, but it is the only lever this game gives you.
