Spider Solitaire

The big-league solitaire: build full King-to-Ace runs.

About Spider Solitaire

The deeper, trickier sibling of Klondike — and a favorite of serious card players. Build descending runs across ten columns and clear complete King-to-Ace runs of the same suit. Start with 1-suit mode to learn the flow, then graduate to 2 and 4 suits for a real challenge. Includes unlimited undo, scoring, and careful dealing rules.

How to Play

Stack cards in descending order; same-suit runs move together. Clear a full King→Ace run in one suit to remove it. Tap the stock to deal 10 more cards — but fill any empty columns first!

💡 Tips & Strategy

Spider is won and lost in the empty columns. Your first goal in every deal is to open one — and having emptied it, spend it wisely: use the space to flip face-down cards or reassemble broken runs, not to park a card you merely dislike.

Build in-suit whenever possible, even when an off-suit build is available. Off-suit stacks are frozen scaffolding — they can't move as a unit — while same-suit runs stay mobile. When you must build off-suit, do it on high cards you weren't going to move soon anyway.

Before dealing from the stock, tidy ruthlessly: a deal drops ten random cards across your columns and buries whatever they land on. Never deal while a column sits empty if you can avoid it — and know the game won't let you anyway.

Flip face-down cards with the same priority as Klondike: hidden cards are your real opponents. Given a choice, dig into the columns with the most face-down cards. In 2- and 4-suit games, resist completing a nearly-full off-suit stack that traps a needed card — sometimes the winning move is to deliberately break a pretty run. Use undo to scout; there's no shame in looking before leaping.
