About Canfield
Named after a Saratoga club owner, and famous for how rarely it comes out. A dealt card sets the foundation rank, and everything wraps around the corner — Kings sit on Aces, foundations run right round the loop back to where they started. A thirteen-card reserve feeds every column you empty, which sounds generous until you realise it is the reserve deciding your game. This deal was built to win. Ruin its record.
How to Play
Build the tableau DOWN in alternating colours — ranks wrap, so a King goes on an Ace. Foundations start at the dealt rank and wrap round to complete each suit. The reserve auto-fills empty columns. Cycle the stock and clear all four foundations.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Play from the reserve whenever you can — those thirteen cards are the game's hostages, and every one released is a move the deal can't take back.
Remember everything wraps: a King on an Ace is often the move people miss, and a foundation stuck at Queen still has King, Ace, Two ahead of it depending on the start rank.
Don't build long tableau runs for their own sake. The reserve refills empty columns automatically, so clearing a column is how you drain the reserve — prioritise moves that empty columns over moves that merely look tidy.
