About Word Search
The classic pencil-and-paper favorite, now instant and endless. Each round hides a themed list of words — animals, food, cities and more — across the grid: horizontally, vertically, diagonally, and even backwards on harder levels. 💡 Tips & Strategy
Don't read the grid — scan it. Pick a word from the list, take its rarest letter (Q, J, X, Z, K, or a distinctive pair like TH), and sweep the grid for that letter alone. Rare letters appear a handful of times, while starting from common first letters drowns you in false leads.
When you find a candidate letter, check its eight neighbors for the word's next letter, then let your eye run the line. On harder grids remember words also run backwards — if a forward check fails, read the line the other way before abandoning the spot.
Hunt long words first. An eight-letter word has fewer possible hiding places and its found line becomes a landmark that visually organizes the grid; the short words tend to reveal themselves while you're tracing the long ones.
Use the theme actively: knowing the category primes your brain to spot letter shapes as whole words rather than sequences. If a word refuses to appear, methodically comb the grid edges — the border rows hide words in fewer possible directions, and puzzle-makers love tucking them there. Save hints for the final stubborn word; your time bonus will thank you.
