5️⃣ Suguru

🧩 Puzzle · 13 plays

Suguru

Little cages, low numbers, and a no-touching rule that does all the damage.

About Suguru

Also called Tectonic, and quietly one of the meanest small puzzles going. Each outlined cage of N cells holds the digits 1 to N exactly once — a five-cell cage runs 1 to 5, a lone cell is just a 1. Then the rule that carries the whole game: identical digits may never touch, not even diagonally. Every placed number burns its value out of all eight neighbours, and the chain reactions from one confident digit can rip across half the board.

How to Play

Tap a cell, then pick a digit. A cage of N cells contains 1 to N, each exactly once. Equal digits never touch — not even at corners. Notes and Check keep you honest.

💡 Tips & Strategy

Finish the small cages first — a one-cell cage is a placed 1, a two-cell cage is a 1-2 pair, and each placement immediately scorches all eight neighbours of each digit. The no-touch rule does more work than the cages do.

Hunt the big numbers: a 5 can only live in five-cell cages, so neighbouring big cages constrain each other's 5s and 4s hard — two five-cell cages touching leaves very few legal 5 spots between them.

When stuck, pick an empty cell and list what survives both its cage and its neighbours. Suguru cells often have exactly one survivor hiding in plain sight — pencil notes make it mechanical.
