About Star Battle
The logic puzzle that took over the pencil-puzzle world one championship at a time. Place stars so that every row, every column and every bold-outlined region gets its exact quota — and no two stars ever touch, not even at a corner. That untouchability is the engine: one placed star scorches a nine-cell exclusion zone around itself, and the small regions squeeze until they crack first. No arithmetic, no words, no guessing. Just pressure.
How to Play
Tap a cell to cycle: star → dot (ruled out) → blank. Every row, column and outlined region needs its exact star count. Stars never touch, not even diagonally. Check verifies your board.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Start in the smallest regions: a region of exactly N cells (for N stars) is fully forced, and a snake-shaped region can pin star positions outright. Every placed star kills all eight neighbours — mark those dots religiously.
Think in rows a region owns: if a region's remaining cells all sit in one row, that row's stars live there, so the rest of the row is dots — even before you place anything. This 'claimed line' trick cracks most hard boards.
Count lines constantly: a row needing 2 stars with only two legal (non-touching) spots left is solved. When two regions must share the same rows for their stars, the cells outside them in those rows are all dots.
