Sudoku with knives out — the cages do the talking.
About Killer Sudoku
Sudoku for people who finished sudoku. The classic rules still stand — 1 to 9 in every row, column and box — but now dashed cages carve up the grid, each demanding an exact sum with no repeated digit inside. On Expert there are no starting digits at all: just cages, arithmetic and you. The famous combinations become weapons — a two-cell 3 is always 1+2, a 17 is always 8+9 — and stacking those certainties is the whole dark art.
How to Play
Fill 1–9 in every row, column and 3×3 box, no repeats. Each dashed cage must add to its clue, with no digit repeating inside the cage. Use notes for candidates. Hard and Expert allow only three mistakes.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Learn the locked sums: a two-cell 3 is 1+2, a 4 is 1+3, a 16 is 7+9, a 17 is 8+9; three cells making 6 are 1+2+3 and 24 is 7+8+9. These cages are free real estate — pencil them first.
Use the 45 rule: every row, column and box sums to 45. If cages exactly cover a box except one cell, that cell is 45 minus the cage totals. It feels like cheating. It's just arithmetic.
Small cages crack before big ones, and a digit placed in a cage kills that digit for the whole cage as well as the row, column and box — four constraints per placement. Chain them and Expert opens like anything else.
