Fillomino

Fill the grid with numbers so every region of N cells holds only N.

About Fillomino

A number puzzle that is secretly a shape puzzle. Write 1 to 9 in every empty cell so the grid splits into regions: a region of three cells is three 3s, a 1 stands alone, and two different regions of the same size may never touch side by side — they would merge into one region too big for its number. Clues are bold and underlined, and a region can hold several clues or none at all. Press a number and drag to paint a whole region in one sweep; finished regions light up in colour and broken ones go striped red. Easy 6×6, Medium 8×8 or Hard 10×10, each with exactly one solution.

How to Play

Tap a cell, then a number — or press a number and drag to paint neighbouring cells. Touching cells with the same number form one region of exactly that size. Two regions of the same size may never touch side by side. Bold underlined numbers are clues. Fill every cell to solve. Hints add 20 seconds. Keys: arrows, 1–9, Backspace, Z undo, H hint.

💡 Tips & Strategy

Start with the 1s and the big lonely clues. A 1 is a finished region, so every neighbour must be a different number. A clue like 7 or 8 with little room around it often has only one way to grow — count the open cells before you paint.

Work the borders. Touching cells with the same number are always one region, so two different numbers side by side mark a boundary. Once a region reaches its size, every cell around it holds a different number — and since equal-sized regions can never touch, a cell squeezed between two finished 2s can't be a 2.

Cells no clue can reach still need filling, usually with small numbers — 1s and 2s make good filler as long as they don't touch another region of their size. Drag to paint whole regions fast, watch for the striped red warning, and save hints (20 seconds each) for real dead ends: faster solves score more.
