📝 Word of the Day

One five-letter word a day. Six guesses. Good luck.
About Word of the Day
The little daily ritual millions swear by. There is one secret five-letter word each day and you have six tries to find it. After every guess the tiles light up: green for a letter in the right place, yellow for a letter that is in the word but somewhere else, grey for a letter that is not in it. Everyone gets the same word, so it is the perfect thing to compare over morning coffee — and there is a practice mode for when one a day is not enough.
How to Play
Type a real five-letter word and hit Enter. Green = right letter, right place. Yellow = right letter, wrong place. Grey = not in the word. Six guesses. New word every midnight — keep the streak going.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Open with a word full of common letters — RAISE, SLATE or CRANE all test five of the most frequent ones at once, and usually turn two or three tiles yellow or green straight away.
Spend your second guess on new letters rather than replaying the ones you already know about. Two guesses that share no letters screen ten letters, and the answer tends to fall out of that.
Double letters catch everyone. If the pattern refuses to make sense by guess four, ask whether the word repeats a letter — LEVEL, SKILL, BERRY. And before your last guess, pick the word that cannot be wrong in more than one place.
