Pig

Roll again or bank it? Race Rosie to 100 — just don’t roll a 1.

About Pig

The push-your-luck dice race that fits on a napkin. Roll as many times as you dare, piling up turn points, then bank them before a 1 shows up and wipes the lot. First to bank 100 wins. Rosie is a pig who knows her odds: Easy Rosie banks at about 12, Normal holds near 20 and gets bolder when you close in, and Hard plays the proper hold-at-21 race strategy and goes for broke once anyone reaches 71. Fancy it meaner? Two-dice Pig adds both dice every roll, a single 1 ends the turn, any other doubles force you to roll again — and snake eyes wipe your entire banked score. Your best is the fewest turns it took to beat her.

How to Play

Roll as often as you like — each roll adds to your turn points. Roll a 1 and your turn points are gone. Bank to keep them and pass the die. Two dice: a single 1 ends the turn, other doubles force another roll, snake eyes wipe your whole score. First to bank 100 wins. Keys: R or Space to roll, B or Enter to bank.

💡 Tips & Strategy

The classic rule of thumb in one-die Pig is to bank at about 20 turn points — around there, the chance of losing it all on the next roll starts to outweigh what you'd add. Rosie's turn meter even marks her usual stopping point at 20.

Then adjust for the score. Well behind? Push past 20, because steady banking won't catch her. Comfortably ahead? Bank smaller and make her take the risks. Near the finish, bank the moment your turn gets you to 100 — and if Rosie is one good turn from winning, keep rolling, because a safe bank won't save you.

Two-dice Pig changes the maths: a 1 turns up on 11 of every 36 rolls, and snake eyes wipe your whole banked total, so bank sooner — especially once your score is big. Doubles force another roll, so a pair isn't free points, it's another round of risk. Your best counts fewest turns, so the fastest wins come from bold play when you're behind and discipline when you're ahead.
