Watch, listen, repeat — how long a pattern can you hold?
About Simon
The legendary memory game of lights and tones. Four colored buttons flash a growing sequence — watch it, then play it back. Each round adds one more step, and the pace slowly rises. One wrong tap ends the run. Sound on makes it easier: every color has its own note.
How to Play
Press Play, then watch (and listen to) the sequence. Repeat it by tapping the colors in the same order. Every round adds one step. One mistake ends the game!
💡 Tips & Strategy
Simon is rhythm before it is memory. Don't memorize colors as a visual list — encode the sequence as a beat pattern. Most strong players silently chant the pattern ('green-green-red... blue') and replay the chant, letting the melody carry positions their eyes would drop.
Use the tones. Each color has its own note, and your musical memory is stickier than your visual memory: after a dozen rounds you'll notice you can hum the sequence. Trust that — players who close their eyes on long sequences and replay the sound often outlast pure watchers.
Chunk aggressively. Nobody holds fourteen items as a flat list; hold five chunks of two-to-three instead. Group at repeats (a double-tap is one chunk) and rebuild your chunking as the sequence grows.
When it's your turn, don't rush. There is no input timer pressure worth a mistake — play your chunks back at a steady tempo with micro-pauses between them, exactly as you stored them. Mistakes overwhelmingly happen mid-sequence when the eye jumps ahead; keep your attention on the chunk you're playing, not the ones remaining. And when speed ramps up, let your chant speed up with it rather than switching strategies.
